Fleet technology providers urged to upgrade functionality more regularly

Held in Leicester, the Summit was attended by representatives from leasing companies, rental brokers, fleet management companies, rental companies and other industry partners and questioned attendees on the importance of rental technology and rental management.

The feedback showed that the ever-evolving and sophisticated technology needs of corporate fleet clients via leasing and rental companies has become a key feature in providing software as a service.

As a result the requirement for technology change requests and frequent new release features has become increasingly imperative in the development of modern systems.

At the event Fleetondemand unveiled a free “community release”, which will enable all users of the system to put forward functionality and development requests for delivery during 2015 and beyond. The company will then develop the most popular items for release during Q1 2015. The release was greeted as a great way to incorporate the best ideas from all users.

Sarah Easton, managing director at Fleetondemand, commented: ‘We are delighted by the response and feedback that we have had from our inaugural Summit. This has been a culmination of three years’ hard work from everyone in the Fleetondemand team and would not have been possible without the support of our customers, suppliers and partners. In a week where we have also launched our new website – www.fleetondemand.com – times are very exciting.’

In addition, Caroline Gallagher, director – corporate sales, Thrifty Car Rental, said: ‘The Summit was a unique and interesting way of promoting the future technology market. It is not often that customers and suppliers attend an event like this together.’
