Fleet Evolution takes risk out of salsac vehicle damage with new service

Fleet Evolution has launched a new service to ensure fleets aren’t left paying the bill on salary sacrifice vehicle damage after employees have left, further enhancing the benefits of its schemes.

Founder and MD Andrew Leech said the new service maintains the company’s position of offering the lowest-risk EV salsac scheme in the UK

Available via a new app, which is free to all customers, ReturnCheck assesses any damage on a salary sacrifice car at the point that an employee leaves a company. This then enables the employer to recharge any damage costs to their final salary payment.

Andrew Leech, founder and managing director at the EV salary sacrifice and fleet management specialist, said vehicle damage was one of the few risks associated with salary sacrifice schemes – and the new service tackles this.

It addresses the risk of employers paying the final salary cheque to staff, only for damage to be found after the vehicle is returned – and with no means to recoup a repair bill that could run into hundreds or even thousands of pounds.

“With ReturnCheck, the employer notifies us of an employee leaving 30 days in advance. We then download the app to the employee’s mobile phone and, through it, assess the condition of the vehicle and whether any remedial work is required,” explained Leech.

“If work is needed to repair the vehicle, we can provide an estimate to the employer who can recharge this to the employee’s final salary payment before they leave the company, so that the employer is not liable for the cost.

“This service also speeds up the repair process, allowing us to repair the vehicle in good time before it can then be allocated to another colleague or customer,” he added.

Fleet Evolution’s salary sacrifice scheme is already set up to ensure terms don’t breach the National Living Wage while redundancy and leaver risks are covered through insurance – and the new service means the company covers all eventualities.

“We’ve introduced ReturnCheck to maintain our position of offering the lowest-risk salary sacrifice scheme for electric cars anywhere in the UK,” finished Leech.

The new service launches as Fleet Evolution reports a record year after seeing a 45%-plus increase in orders for electric cars through its salary sacrifice schemes in 2022.
