National Highways has launched a raft of online resources for fleets through its Driving for Better Business programme.

The online library will help organisations find the right resources for their drivers on a range of core driver safety subjects.

“This online library allows fleet managers to share information that changes each month,” explained Mark Cartwright, head of the commercial vehicle incident prevention team at National Highways. “Fleet managers can share links via emails or simply via a QR code sticker in the vehicle, so that the driver can click on the link by phone.”

The first – on driver fatigue – has a range of more than 10 assets including a poster, the most recent ‘Toolbox Talk’ video, plus tips from the Van Driver Toolkit.

Future monthly topics will include driver distractions; fitness to drive and medical conditions; seatbelts; diet and hydration; drink and drug driving; driver licence; insurance and incident reporting; safe towing; weather conditions and winder preparation; speed limits; vehicle roadworthiness; safe loading; mental health and driver wellbeing; and vehicle safety and security

The new resource library was unveiled at a National Highways and Driving for Better Business conference, held last month at the National Space Centre and attended by fleet and health and safety leaders.

This month’s resources are available online with a link for a supply of QR stickers.
