Driver training and road safety expert Colin Paterson joins Red Corporate Driver Training

Red Corporate Driver Training has appointed driver training and road safety expert Colin Paterson to further spearhead its work in fleet and risk management solutions.

Colin Paterson joins Red Corporate Driver Training in a newly created position within corporate marketing

Paterson joins the firm in a newly created position within corporate marketing, following nearly five years as head of marketing at AA Drivetech. His background also includes three years as director of marketing and communications at IAM RoadSmart and seven years at Tracker, where he established the in-house marketing department.

One of the leading driving schools in the UK, Red also runs a comprehensive and accredited range of corporate driver training services and has seen significant growth in its business over the past year. Alongside driver training, it also offers licence acquisition, compliance processes and risk management to corporate clients across car, van and truck fleets.

Paterson said: “I’m delighted to join RED at such an exciting time – the brand has huge ambitions in the corporate driver market and it’s clear with the growth in the past year there is a lot of hunger for training.

“The fleet sector is undergoing huge changes, with the transition to electric, the advent of autonomy and issues to manage such as the cost of fuel and driver shortages. I hope my experience in the sector can help develop RED’s offering and give firms the training tools to navigate these issues.”

Red Driver Training CEO Seb Goldin added: “Colin’s expertise in the driver training industry will allow us to open more doors at corporate clients.

“This appointment comes at an important time, not just for RED but for drivers as a whole. The demands of more technology, electrification and increased congestion mean that having safe drivers behind the wheel is more important than ever. Despite these changes we believe, as always, the driver is the difference.”
