DMN Logistics invests in AI-led delivery solutions

DMN Logistics is introducing AI technology across its business to enhance existing capabilities, including for electric vehicles and time-critical deliveries.

Nick Chadaway, managing director, DMN Logistics

The Birmingham-based inspection and single-vehicle delivery company said its investment in the next generation of planning, transport and inspection systems would support effective planning and resource management processes. This will in turn optimise driver productivity and reduce downtime as well as helping to ensure compliance with clients’ SLAs and data requirements.

The implementation of integrated AI technology will optimise real-time route planning, driving times and the ability to pre-empt transport issues, further evolving services and helping ensure the most effective vehicle deliveries to support customers’ needs.

Nick Chadaway, managing director at DMN Logistics, explained: “It is about evolving. As customers’ needs change, so should our practices.

“As a business, driven by data and we recognise that our clients have an evolving complexity of data requirements. And thanks to AI technology, we collate a lot of data!

“To ensure we deliver a scalable, cost-effective and leading-edge system-driven solution we must invest in our infrastructure and seek to develop and deliver the next generation of AI lead processes, including automated inspection processes, resource planning and route guidance.”

In the case of the latter, this will expand to include specific EV charging routes and time-critical deliveries in high-congestion areas such as Central London.

Further updates over the next 12 months will see the firm’s IT solutions team collaborate with external providers to deliver a complete system package.

Chadaway continued: “We are excited to engage with our clients as we identify opportunities and critical milestones in this exciting and ambitious plan.

“We are a company that is powered by data and driven by people, and we will continue to support our customers, and our drivers, to ensure their needs are met.”
