The changes see CO2 drop from 139g/km to 129g/km whilst combined fuel consumption improves from 53.5 mpg to 57.6 mpg.

As a result, the BiK band drops to 20%, resulting in a monthly tax bill of only £56.47 per month for a MG6 DTi-TECH GT S. The decrease in emissions also lowers the VED band for all MG6 Diesels from group E to a group D.

Meanwhile performance of the MG6 DTi-TECH remains unchanged, with the 150PS, 350NM diesel engine providing a 0-60mph time of 8.9s.

To further boost the MG6’s appeal to fleets, the carmaker is offering free upgrades on diesel specifications until 31st December.

Under the offer, customers can buy an MG6 GT SE Diesel for the same price as an S, saving £1,200, and a TSE for the same price as an SE, saving £2,000.

Magnette customers also benefit from Q4 offers, as a Magnette DTi-TECH TSE available for the same price as an MG6 GT SE, a saving of £3,000.

As a result, GT prices are as follows:

MG6 GT S Diesel £16,995 OTR
MG6 GT SE Diesel £18,195 OTR
MG6 GT TSE Diesel £20,195 OTR
