DfT publishes toolkit of assets for fleets on Highway Code changes

The Department for Transport has published a toolkit of assets for businesses to raise awareness of the new Highway Code changes.

The changes came into effect from 29 January 2022 and introduce a hierarchy of road users that places those most at risk in the event of a collision at the top.

Announced last summer, the changes follow a public consultation on a review of the Highway Code, which received more than 20,000 responses from the public.

The new toolkit, available on the DfT extranet, has been developed for businesses to use to ensure that customers, employees and stakeholders have all the information they need.

All assets signpost to the Gov.UK page on The Highway Code: 8 changes you need to know from 28 January 2022, where there is more information on these changes.

It’s part of the DfT’s communications work to highlight the changes; it’s launched a paid media campaign to raise awareness among everyone travelling on GB roads. This campaign is being delivered in partnership with Transport for London, and the Scottish and Welsh Governments and will run across radio and social media channels.
