Cupra UK triples fleet registrations in 2023

Cupra UK almost tripled its fleet registrations last year, posting a 191% increase over the course of 2023.

Registrations of the Cupra Born electric hatch also tripled in 2023

The brand, which rose to sixth place in the market for fleet sales, outpaced the overall industry’s performance; SMMT fleet registration figures showed a 38.7% increase in 2023. Cupra also grew its overall registrations by 78% in 2023.

Cupra’s fleet performance was boosted by its electrified offering, with registrations of the Cupra Born electric hatch also tripling (200%) in 2023, and the Cupra Formentor e-Hybrid variants even outstripping this.

Alongside its electrified model range, Cupra’s fleet success was driven by strong total cost of ownership (TCO) figures. Figures cited by the brand for the Cupra Born 230PS e-Boost 58kWh V1 indicate a running cost of 39.5p/mile and a residual value of 42.5% at three years/60,000 miles. It also benefits from a BiK rating of 2% for 2024/5, with P11D values starting from £35,030, following a recent price reduction.

The Formentor e-Hybrid PHEV also offers a competitive TCO due to its residual value of 38.6% and its 1.4-litre DSG-auto 204hp powertrain that returns an official combined mpg of up to 235.4 miles (WLTP).

The brand also offers a national footprint of 120 service centres and 60 retailers (of which 12 are Fleet Specialists) and a suite of digital tools available to fleet decision-makers – and has now also introduced a five-year warranty as standard.

Marcus Gossen, director of SEAT and Cupra UK, said: “Cupra UK delivered a massive increase in fleet registrations in 2023, growing on an already strong performance in 2022. When you consider that our fleet sales were zero as recently as 2019, to place sixth in the market is quite stunning.

“Over the past four years, we have developed a fleet offering and network that genuinely appeals to businesses across the UK, and the future promises to be even more promising.

“In the next two years, we will be welcoming more electrified models to our range, starting with our first all-electric SUV coupé Cupra Tavascan later in 2024, as well as reinforcing the current fleet programme to continue our ambitious growth.”
