Rebecca McNeil, the former chief operating officer for Barclays Business, has joined Close Brothers Motor Finance as its new chief executive officer.

She replaces previous incumbent James Broached – who has decided to retire –and, alongside leading the team at Close Brothers Motor Finance, will also join the Executive Committee for Close Brothers’ banking division.

Prior to her role at Barclays Business, McNeil was managing director of lending for Barclays Corporate bank, providing financial products and services to support companies to grow and develop their businesses, from start-ups and small businesses through to global corporates.

She joined Barclays from GE Capital where she worked for five years in both business development and asset management.
