City Auction Group is developing a “game-changing” new 28-acre site that will support expansion of its logistics offering.

The site will expand PurpleRock’s capacity by a further 5,000 vehicles

Located off the A1, north of Peterborough, the site will provide an HQ for its PurpleRock logistics business and expand its footprint with capacity for a further 5,000 vehicles, across defleet, logistics and secure storage.

The centre will offer secured and in-life managed storage prior to vehicle preparation and NAMA/BVRLA inspection, together with valet standards, vehicle repair, AI 360 video and digital imagery by Vumo, and final movement by PurpleRock.

Opening in September 2024, the new facility will also feature modular offices and a conference centre, plus enhanced vehicle processing facilities.

Michael Tomalin, CEO of City Auction, said the new site will be a game changer for the PurpleRock business and the group as a whole.

“It’s a significant investment for the group, enabling us to further strengthen our logistics offering, with a dedicated facility in the heart of the UK.

“Over the coming months, we will be developing further the logistics facilities across NW, Scotland and Northern Ireland to complement our new PurpleRock headquarters. These are exciting times for the business as we continue our growth aspirations to operate in unison with our remarketing business, City Auction Group.”
