Fleets can now order petrol and diesel variants of the Citroën C4 X saloon, complementing the already available fully electric ë-C4 X.

The C4 X saloon is now available in petrol/diesel guise along with the fully electric versions

Previously only on sale in selected markets in Europe, the ICE models are being brought over here following “significant customer demand” and are priced from £22,080.

The new arrivals, which start first deliveries in July 2023, bring a choice of two petrol powertrains in the form of 100hp and 130hp 1.2-litre three-cylinder PureTech petrol models, the former with a six-speed manual and the latter with an eight-speed automatic.

The sole diesel is a 130hp 1.5-litre BlueHDi unit, again with an eight-speed auto.

Petrol models are available in Sense, Sense Plus, Shine and Shine Plus grades, while the diesel model is sold exclusively in Shine Plus.

Sense models come with 18-inch alloy wheels, a 10-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus active safety brake, speed limit information, lane keeping assist, forward collision warning and driver attention alert.

Sense Plus models gain the My Citroën Drive Plus infotainment and navigation system with integrated natural voice commands, along with a head-up display, and a reversing camera with top rear vision.

The Shine trim level adds in dark-tinted rear windows, chrome details and upgraded bi-tone diamond-cut 18-inch alloys, along with automatic intelligent beam headlights, an auto-dimming electrochrome interior rear-view mirror and front and lateral parking sensors. Safety upgrades deliver advanced active safety brake with night-time and cyclist detection, and extended traffic sign recognition.

Range-topping Shine Plus versions come with Alcantara seats, which are heated for the driver and front passenger, as well as level 2 semi-autonomous driving technology.

The new arrivals follow the latest update to the ë-C4 X, which along with the ë-C4, is now available with an additional electric powertrain that combines a new, larger 54kWh battery pack with a more efficient 156hp electric motor to give up to 260 miles of range. That’s an increase of some 40 miles compared to the existing versions with a 50kWh battery and 136hp motor. Despite the increased battery capacity, charging times stay the same and the models are able to charge at up to 100kW DC.

They’re available exclusively with a new ë-series trim level, featuring wireless smartphone charging, an eight-speaker Citroën hi-fi system, black 18-inch alloy wheels and a bi-tone roof.
