First unveiled in 2013, the C4 Cactus brings a radical approach to motoring, with Citroen saying it ‘offers more of what really counts’.

Set to start deliveries in October, the new C4 Cactus will be priced from £12,935 and is also said to be almost 20% less than the benchmark in the compact hatchback segment whilst also offering enhanced practicality.

With an equivalent wheelbase to the C4, the Cactus provides the same amount of space, but with more compact exterior dimensions. It also offers boot capacity of 358 litres.

The model also brings a striking new design, with the pioneering Airbump impact-absorbing panels on the sides of the car and bumpers providing day-to-day protection, with the TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) skin absorbing impacts thereby helping to cut vehicle repair costs.

Running costs are also reduced thanks to a kerb weight that’s 200kg lighter than the Citroën C4 helped by weight-reducing features such as an aluminium bonnet, pop-out rear windows (-11kg) and a single-piece folding rear bench.

The line-up also offers with a range of Euro 6 compliant PureTech petrol & BlueHDi diesels with Stop & Start. Emissions for diesel models start at just 82g/km for the BlueHDi 100 manual with no-cost smaller wheels, rising to 87g/km for the standard model and 94g/km for the e-HDi 92 ETG6 whilst the petrol PureTech 82 S&S ETG offers CO2 from 100g/km.

Three trim levels are offered – Touch, Feel and Flair – with standard kit including the seven-inch Touch Drive interface to control primary vehicle functions, cruise control with speed limiter, tyre pressure monitor, steering wheel controls and four-speaker RDS radio/MP3 player with AUX socket. There’s also an optional Auto Pack with automatic air conditioning, automatic lights and windscreen wipers and the City Camera Pack with rear parking sensors and colour reversing camera – both of which come on the top-spec Flair, which also gains the eMyWay satellite navigation, six-speaker sound system with Jukebox and ARKAMYS digital amplifier.

It also comes as standard with the Hello Yellow paintwork, with other colour options available at cost.

Prices range from £12,935 for the PureTech 75 manual in Touch trim to £18,135 for the e-HDi 92 ETG6.
