Chevin partners FTA’s Van Excellence Scheme

With over 3.2 million vans on Britain’s roads (a 40 per cent increase since 1990), the Scheme, designed to improve standards and recognise excellence in van fleet operations, was introduced earlier this year. Also attempting to remove the ‘white van man’ stereotype that haunts the sector, the FTA has created a series of best practice standards in order to help a variety of organisations develop safer and more efficient processes and methods of van fleet management.

Recognised for its ability to support the goals of the Van Excellence Scheme and assist van operators in meeting the associated standards, Chevin was one of the first fleet sector suppliers invited to partner the initiative.

Commenting on the partnership, Mark Cartwright, the FTA’s head of van and light commercial vehicles, said: “Chevin’s software delivers a mechanism for fleets to streamline processes, identify risk and implement more effective methods of data management. As such, it was an obvious choice to invite Chevin to support the FTA’s latest initiative as they represent a perfect fit for the scheme.”

Ashley Sowerby, managing director, Chevin Fleet Solutions, added: “I’m thrilled to have been invited to partner the Van Excellence Scheme and see it as testament to Chevin software’s ability to transform fleet operations of all sizes and complexities and facilitate safer, more cost effective and efficient functions.”
