Carzam appoints Edgardo Savoy as CTO

Online used car sales start-up Carzam has appointed Edgardo Savoy to the role of chief technology officer.

Edgardo Savoy, CTO at Carzam

Savoy joins from money transfer company TransferGo and also previously worked for brands including Paddy Power and Lastminute.com.

His appointment comes after the company sold more than 13,500 cars and achieved turnover approaching £150m in its first year of trading. Its growth plans are being accelerated by its first external fundraising round, which raised £112m late last year and will be used to support technology and services to help scale the business at pace.

Savoy said: “I am thrilled to be part of the dynamic team at Carzam. The company is fiercely ambitious and ready to embrace change. To lead the way in this industry we need to continually innovate, and Carzam has brought me in to do just that.

“Most importantly, we will focus on functionality for the consumer. Our customer experience will sit at the heart of any changes we make as we build new capabilities into Carzam’s systems.”
