Carter Jonas now operates from a national network of 28 offices, following the recent expansion in outer London through the strategic acquisition of Sullivan Thomas, an independent residential sales and lettings business trading from offices at Parsons Green, Bishops Park and Wandsworth.

As a result, the Carter Jonas fleet has now grown from 90 to 100 cars, the majority of which are executive grade vehicles for the firm’s self-employed Partners. The firm also has around 35 company car drivers from sales negotiator to associate level, plus a further 130 drivers who take a cash allowance instead of a company car.

Carter Jonas wanted to provide its cash allowance staff with more options, and decided to introduce a salary sacrifice car scheme in the final quarter of last year. Following an extensive review, it selected salary sacrifice and contract hire provider, Tusker as offering the best and most suitable scheme.

Following the introduction of Tusker’s Fleetdesk fleet management solution, Carter Jonas employees are now able to select, quote and order their new vehicles online, making the process as time and cost efficient as possible.

At the same time, the company also decided to review the arrangements it had in place for the remainder of its fleet and introduce an element of competition with its existing leasing supplier.

‘The obvious choice for our new leasing supplier was Tusker, although several other suppliers tendered for the business,’ said Carter Jonas financial controller, Paul Taylor.

‘Having made the decision to go with Tusker for contract hire as well as salary sacrifice, all our drivers will be using the Tusker online system to select and order all new vehicles.

‘At the same time, we have introduced a new car policy with Volkswagen-Audi models as our benchmark vehicles and with a carbon ceiling of 130g/km for all vehicles other than the Partners,’ he said.

Tusker CEO David Hosking said: ‘We are delighted to have been selected by Carter Jonas, one of the best-known names in property consultancy, to provide full maintenance contract hire and a salary sacrifice car scheme for its employees.’
