MAF Finance Group (MAF) has recruited two ex-Barclays relationship managers to expands its new London and South East team, as it looks to increase its coverage across the capital and the South East.

The MAF southern team

The recruitment forms part of MAF’s growth strategy following its acquisition by Begbies Traynor Group in Q1 2021.

Mathew Stacey will lead the regional team in the South East and joins as director, head of business development, joined by Jonathan Pavey as business development director.

Stacey brings more than 20 years in the industry, the majority of which has been spent as a business development manager at Barclays.

Pavey also joins from Barclays, having spent time as an adviser at Santander before joining Barclays in 2011.

The creation of the team will see MAF gain coverage in the London and South East areas and the duo will work closely with existing MAF relationship manager, Michael Chapman.

MAF director Dave Chapman said: “Having a team on the ground covering London and the South East has long been a goal for us and we will now look to build out the team further as we grow to help more SMEs in this part of the UK.

“Both Mat and Jon are really well connected, and we look forward to continuing working with our professional contacts and Begbies Traynor Group as we further expand the MAF business and to support businesses in these unprecedented times.”
