BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions UK has appointed Mark Richards to head up its asset finance division, focused on the materials handling, construction and commercial vehicles markets.

Richards takes up the role after 20 years in the asset finance sector, previously having established the Marubeni-Komatsu Finance business, and with employers including Hitachi Capital Business Finance, GE Capital Equipment Finance, and CIT Vendor Finance UK beforehand.

As head of equipment and logistics solutions sales – key accounts and business development, he will be responsible for growing relationships with manufacturers, and recruiting new partners in the industry.

Commenting on his appointment, Richards said:  “My role will be instrumental in ensuring that we continue to provide the finance solutions that our partners need to successfully grow their businesses. To that end, I will be working closely with manufacturers and dealers to ensure we continue to be the funder of choice across all of our core markets”
