BMW Group appoints Matt Collins as new fleet chief

BMW Group UK has named Matt Collins as its new general manager of corporate sales, effective immediately.

He succeeds Steve Roberts, who has moved to become head of sales at Mini UK just over a year since he took the corporate sales role.

Collins assumes responsibility for leading the fleet team, responsible for all BMW and MINI sales to business and leasing customers in the UK.

He brings nearly 20 years of experience at BMW, joining in 2006 and working in various capacities at BMW UK, particularly in Strategy and Product Marketing. Collins then headed over to BMW of North America in 2014, leading Sales and Marketing for the Western USA, operating in a competitive EV marketplace and managing retail sales throughout the pandemic.

Since his return to the UK last year, Collins has helped spearhead several strategic initiatives and projects designed to shape the future of the business.

Debbie McIntosh, BMW sales director, said his in-depth knowledge of the brands in both the UK and North America would be of enormous value.

“Matt’s insights gained in the rapidly evolving Californian EV market is also particularly beneficial as we see high demand for electric mobility within corporate fleets in the UK,” she continued.

Collins added: “As we continue to expand our electric vehicle offering with the forthcoming launch of the BMW i5, a key model for many fleets, I look forward to meeting many of our customers and further strengthening the BMW and MINI brand presence within this vital sector of our UK business.”
