Alphabet GB has appointed E.On as its electric vehicle charging partner to help support fleets with the transition to sustainable mobility.

The partnership gives customers access to a complete package of fully integrated home, workplace and public charging solutions

The partnership gives new and existing customers access to a complete package of fully integrated home, workplace and public charging solutions for seamless, hassle-free charging.

Alphabet said the tie-up would ensure its corporate, public sector and SME customers continue to get the expert support and best-in-class solutions they need to decrease fleet carbon emissions and choose greener, more efficient vehicles.

Under the partnership, customers will now benefit from access to more than 36,000 public charge points across the UK and Europe, including over 3,000 ultra-fast charging stations through the E.On Drive app.

Users will also get exclusive home charging options to ensure their EV is fully charged each morning, including discounted, fully fitted wallboxes, which can be optimised and controlled through the E.On Home app.

The collaboration also enables expert consultancy on workplace charging installation, providing best support on setting-up and maintaining electrified fleet requirements, including payment and driver reimbursement options, plus detailed monthly fleet and charging reporting.

The joined-up approach complements Alphabet’s well-established e-mobility consulting solution, bringing together extensive knowledge and experience from both companies to provide customers with tailored, best-fit products and services.

The move is expected to increase the uptake of zero-emission vehicles; Alphabet has been spearheading fleet electrification since 2013 and currently manages a fleet of over 55,000 electrified vehicles while 69% of new car orders are either partially or fully electric.

David Rose, head of product and governance at Alphabet GB, said: “Charging is still one of the biggest concerns for fleets of all sizes. By partnering with E.On we’re reinforcing our long-standing commitment to ensuring our customers get the expert support and solutions they need to break down barriers and supercharge EV adoption.”

Chris Lovatt, chief operating officer UK Solutions, E.On, added: “Decarbonising transport is one of the key pillars of meeting the UK’s 2050 net zero targets and is vital if we are to combat the climate crisis. Increasing the number of charging points at home, in public and at workplaces, will not only reassure drivers, we hope it will inspire them to make the cleaner choice.

“We’re proud to partner with Alphabet to give their customers easy access to charging and helping in their commitment to becoming more sustainable.”
