Allianz Holdings deploys EV sal-sac scheme with CBVC and ElectriX

Allianz Holdings has launched a new salary sacrifice scheme for its UK employees to help accelerate electric vehicle take-up.

The scheme enables Allianz employees to access any fully electric vehicle along with plug-in hybrids rated at under 50g/km

The business, one of the largest UK general insurers, introduced the scheme to its UK team of nearly 8,000 employees in May. The dual-branded scheme is provided by ElectriX – the one-stop shop for electric cars from LV= General Insurance, which is owned by Allianz – along with CBVC Vehicle Management, which runs the end-to-end leasing journey for ElectriX.

The Allianz scheme uses CBVC’s online portal to enable eligible employees to research the cars available, access reviews, and see the costs of optional extras and mileage bands. Employees can access any fully electric vehicle, from the MG ZS through to the Porsche Taycan, with some available for delivery within 30 days. Plug-in hybrids are also available, if they are rated at under 50g/km for CO2.

Guy Spence, managing director ElectriX, commented: “Sustainability is at the core of our business and by offering our people the opportunity to move to an EV is a huge step forwards in managing our own ‘grey’ fleet. Both Allianz and LV= insure EVs so this is a very natural extension of our aims as a commercial and personal lines insurer. It’s also a great addition to our employee benefits as a cost-effective way to introduce EV ownership.”

He added: “We’ve been touring our branch network as part of the launch and the initial feedback has been terrific.”

Mike Manners, managing director of CBVC Vehicle Management, said: “Salary sacrifice offers such a brilliant option for both employers and employees and makes an electric car a really affordable option. Introducing salary sacrifice at this scale means that together we can make a real difference to the environmental, social and governance agenda and reduce carbon emissions for Allianz.”
