86% of drivers don’t have specialist winter tyres fitted on cars

The research also found that despite the enhanced safety benefits of winter tyres, nearly half (49%) of Skoda respondents claimed that their chief concern when selecting tyres was getting the lowest price, instead of having the most suitable set.

Meanwhile nearly a fifth (17%) of motorists admitted to not checking their tyres for at least six months, despite experts recommending they’re checked at least once a month.
