So says Motors.co.uk, which reports that searches for 4×4 vehicles on its website were up by more than 32% during November, compared with the September average.

The most popular models searched for included the Toyota RAV4, which beat the Honda CR-V to the top spot, while the Volkswagen Tiguan took third pace. The top ten also included the Nissan Qashqai, Mercedes Benz M Class and Mitsubishi L200; with the Land Rover Freelander 2, Freelander, Defender and Discovery rounding out the top ten.

Andy Coulthurst, managing director at Motors.co.uk, said: ‘We traditionally see an increase in searches for 4×4 vehicles in November and this year is no exception. As the Met Office issues bad weather warnings, people look to change their cars for more suitable bad weather vehicles.

‘However, due to this high demand, the market is likely to see pressure on prices, with high values secured for good quality used stock and increased competition over the best vehicles.’
