The Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) is investing up to £25m in UK-based, late-stage, collaborative research and development of automotive technology and processes.

The APC is looking for projects that support the UK’s long-term capabilities by securing long-term R&D investment, and achieve the design, build and manufacture of zero-carbon tailpipe emission vehicles through the associated supply chain

Open now until 11:00am on Wednesday 18 May 2022, the competition seeks proposals for collaborative match-funded projects. These must demonstrate the development of on-vehicle technologies (including material, product and manufacturing processes) for on- or off-road vehicles.

Projects that support the UK’s long-term supply chain, associated capabilities and growth aspirations are particularly of interest. This includes improving productivity and competitiveness in the design, build and manufacture of vehicles that are capable of low and zero tailpipe emissions.

Examples of such technologies include battery cell components or systems, as well as fuel cell and associated balance of plant, and hydrogen storage and management systems.
