Autoglass opens more branches to meet growing ADAS demand

Autoglass is expanding its footprint further with new branches in response to growing demand for Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) recalibration services.

ADAS calibration is required following a windscreen replacement of many new vehicles

Autoglass has opened 12 new branches in 2024 to meet increasing demand for ADAS recalibration services

The vehicle glass repair, replacement and recalibration company has opened 12 new branches so far in 2024 to accommodate demand for ADAS recalibration services, bringing its total number of nationwide branches to more than 100.

Chosen for their convenient locations, the new branches include sites opened in June in Nelson (Lancashire) and Kendal (Cumbria), which join the existing branches already opened this year in Leyton, Lowestoft, Harrow, Redditch, Harrogate, Colchester, Brighton, Worthing, Ashford and Middlesbrough. There are plans for further growth in the coming months.

ADAS cameras and sensors need to be recalibrated after any windscreen replacement to ensure they are relaying the correct information back to the driver. The level flooring, lighting and access to specialist equipment within branches mean they provide a controlled environment for the accurate recalibration of vehicle safety sensors.

Vehicles with ADAS are increasingly common on UK roads, and as of July this year more of these safety systems will become mandatory for all new vehicles.

Ed Colley, head of brand and marketing at Autoglass, said: “There has been a huge growth of safety cameras in cars in recent years, and with the new regulation this trend is only set to continue in the months and years ahead. The safety of the driver is central to everything we do, which is why we conduct our recalibrations in our branches to ensure our technicians are recalibrating in a controlled environment and with access to our best-in-class technology.

“The new branches allow us to expand and grow our comprehensive coverage, meaning our customers can rest assured that their vehicle glass will be taken care of quickly and efficiently wherever they are.”
