VRA moves AGM online-only in response to general election
The Vehicle Remarketing Association (VRA) has changed plans for its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in response to the recent general election announcement.
The full programme of presentations originally planned for the AGM will form part of a later meeting
An in-person meeting had been planned for Thursday 4 July, hosted at BCA, Perry Barr, Birmingham. As this is now polling day, the meeting has been both shortened and switched to online-only.
VRA chair Philip Nothard said: “There were some understandable reservations from members about holding the AGM on the same day as the general election, especially with some people worried about when they might be able to vote.
“So our revised plan is to meet our legal obligations and deal with essential AGM business through an online meeting at 10am on July 4.
“This should take no more than an hour, so will give people plenty of time to get to their local polling station.
“Having exercised their democratic rights by voting in the VRA AGM, they’ll be able to do the same on the national stage, all on the same day.”
The full programme of presentations originally planned as part of the AGM will now form part of a later meeting in July or early August.
“This will include an in-depth look at the subject of battery health checks, a panel discussion on how the results of the general election will affect the remarketing sector and a used car market update,” added Nothard.
The venue and date for this are being finalised but the VRA will provide further details as soon as possible.
