Vauxhall cuts Grandland, Crossland and Insignia prices under new simplified line-up
Vauxhall has introduced a new trim line-up for its Grandland, Crossland and Insignia models, bringing price reductions of up to £2,400 on some models.
Already debuted on the new Astra, the pared-down grade structure comprises three versions: Design, GS Line and Ultimate. These introduce elements from the brand’s new ‘Bold and Pure’ design language, including the new ‘Vizor’ brand face, and are intended to simplify customer choice.
The trim rejig also makes premium features and technology more accessible. Alongside the new grades, revised pricing on the Grandland family SUV and Crossland compact SUV bring reductions of up to £2,400 on most versions but with equal or increased spec levels.
In the case of the Crossland, the range drops from four to three trims, with the former Elite Edition dropped and the SE trim replaced with Design. Pricing now starts at £18,415 and rises to £25,515 for the Ultimate grade with the 120hp 1.5 turbo D engine, and models are up to £2,430 cheaper than before.
The Design trim builds on the outgoing SE trim, adding safety tech including driver drowsiness alert, forward collision alert and auto emergency braking. Standard equipment also includes 16-inch bi-colour alloy wheels, 7-inch colour touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, lane departure warning and speed sign recognition.
GS Line gains the sporty looking Black Pack, along with a colour contrast roof, dark-tinted rear windows, 17-inch bi-colour alloy wheels and exclusive interior. Inside, there’s sat nav with an 8-inch colour touchscreen and dual-zone electronic climate control.
Ultimate adds extra design features such as 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels and LED headlights, along with Alcantara seats with heated front seats and steering wheel. Safety technology includes panoramic rear-view camera, forward collision alert and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection.
The Grandland also removes the previous Elite grade, reducing trim levels from four to three, while making the 225hp plug-in hybrid and the 130hp 1.2-litre petrol manual available in the Ultimate trim. Prices run from £25,810 to £37,375 for the PHEV in Ultimate guise.
Vauxhall’s flagship SUV also gets higher-end equipment, including Adaptive IntelliLux LED Pixel HeadLights, already seen on the new Insignia and featuring 84 LED elements per headlamp to bring powerful yet intelligent and adaptive lighting.
Design models cut pricing compared to the previous SE version and have a high level of specification as standard including 17-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch colour touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone connectivity and dual-zone electronic climate control. Safety technology includes lane departure warning, speed sign recognition, lane assist and automatic emergency braking.
The Grandland GS Line gains a black roof, door mirrors and wheel arches combined with 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels, dark-tinted rear windows and alloy-effect skid plates. It also features LED headlights, tail-lights and daytime running lights. Vauxhall’s new Pure Panel cockpit debuts in the interior with twin screens including a 10-inch colour touchscreen and a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, Multimedia Navi Pro satellite navigation system and driver’s active sports-style seat approved by Germany’s AGR healthier backs campaign.
Ultimate adds in 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, IntelliLux LED Pixel HeadLights and body-colour details, along with Alcantara upholstery with heated front seats and steering wheel. Safety technology includes side blind spot assist, highway integration assist and lane positioning assist.
The flagship Insignia adopts a two-version line-up based on the Design and GS Line. Standard equipment on the Design includes 18-inch bi-colour diamond cut alloy wheels, 8-inch colour touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and dual-zone climate control. The GS Line augments this with features including 20-inch bi-colour alloy wheels, Alcantara interior trim, AGR-approved ergonomic active sports front seats and wireless charging.
Insignia prices start from £30,720 and run through to £40,075 for the GS Line with the 174hp 2.0-litre turbo diesel.
