Next-generation Audi Q5 opens for orders
Audi’s third-generation Q5 SUV is now available to order in the UK, priced from £49,950.
The launch line-up includes the Q5 TFSI and Q5 TDI in three different trims along with the flagship SQ5
A bestseller for the brand, the BMW X3 rival gets an “impactful” new look and becomes the first Audi SUV to shift to the new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC).
The first wave of models includes the Q5 TFSI and Q5 TDI in three different trims along with the flagship SQ5. A plug-in hybrid arrives later.
Engine line-up for the launch models spans three new-generation mild hybrid engines – a 2.0 TFSI petrol and a 2.0 TDI diesel, both delivering 204hp in the Q5, and the 3.0 TFSI V6 reserved for the SQ5 and outputting 367hp with maximum torque of 550Nm. All feature a seven-speed S Tronic transmission and Quattro all-wheel-drive.
The new Q5 also delivers optimised suspension and steering configuration. The conventionally sprung suspension in Q5 variants combines a reworked front axle design for greater agility with a frequency selective damping (FSD) system, which increases control and composure on a variety of surfaces and during cornering or lane changes.
The SQ5 is equipped as standard with air suspension incorporating adaptive damper control, which can be tailored to suit the driver’s preferences using the Audi drive select system.
In the UK, the new Q5 is available in Sport, S Line and Edition 1 specification options, while the top-tier SQ5 is equipped exclusively with an S-specific version of the Edition 1 package.
Entry-level Sport models come with 19-inch alloy wheels, powered tailgate operation and full LED lighting, with the option to add Matrix LED functionality for the headlamps via an over-the-air update. It also comes with a 14.5-inch touchscreen colour display for the MMI navigation plus and an 11.9-inch driver display.
S Line versions added in 20-inch alloy wheels and privacy glass along with S Line styling features.
The Edition 1 specification upgrades to 21-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels with red brake calipers, and also to Matrix LED lighting with active digital light signatures, while front passengers get a 10.9-inch touch display
The step up to the SQ5 Edition 1 specification delivers S-specific styling treatment, digital OLED rear lights, a Bang & Olufsen 3D premium sound system, a panoramic roof, and upholstery in diamond-stitched Fine Nappa leather.
The Q5 TFSI is priced from £49,950 while the TDI starts from £51,600. The SQ5 is priced at £74,400.
First customer deliveries start April 2025.
