The new designs feature a striking, shark-nose front end with an integrated Cupra logo, triangular LED lights, and an illuminated logo positioned in the centre of the rear light.

Complementing the revised exterior is an enhanced interior. The larger 12.9-inch infotainment system, centre console, door panels, dashboard and upholsteries have all been redesigned and feature alongside more sustainable materials with a higher quality feel.

Now open for order in the UK, the Cupra Formentor and the Cupra Leon, in addition to the design enhancements, sport the latest plug-in hybrid technology capable of 272PS and an electric only range of more than 70 miles.

The Cupra Formentor’s powertrain entry point is a new 1.5-litre TSI petrol unit delivering 150PS and linked to a six-speed manual transmission. At the pinnacle of the Formentor line-up are the VZ variants. A new, range-topping powertrain is available for these trim levels that delivers 333PS (245kW) alongside a seven-speed DSG gearbox. An additional powertrain option in the form of a 2.0-litre DSG-auto 265PS unit for the Cupra Formentor is set to arrive later this year.

For the new Cupra Leon, there is a range of petrol powertrain options. The entry point is a four-cylinder 1.5-litre 150PS (110kW) engine that is linked to a six-speed manual transmission, available on both the hatchback and Estate. The Cupra Leon hatchback then receives a 2.0-litre unit with 300PS (221kW) for additional performance, that is front-wheel drive with a seven-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission. Topping the range for the Estate is the all-new 2.0-litre 333PS (245kW) direct-injection, turbocharged petrol engine linked to a seven-speed transmission.

The most significant powertrain development – for both the Formentor and Leon – arrives in the form of the new generation e-Hybrid technology. Two options are available: 204PS (150kW) and 272PS (200kW). Both come with the new 1.5-litre TSI engine, an electric motor, and a larger battery pack offering 19.7kWh (net). This culminates in an electric range of more than 70 miles.

Pricing for the new Cupra Formentor will start from £33,450 OTR, while the new Cupra Leon will start at £31,090 OTR for the hatch and £33,370 OTR for the Estate.

Marcus Gossen, director of Seat and Cupra UK, said: “These latest designs for the hugely successful Cupra Formentor and Cupra Leon have been developed to lead the brand into a new era. From the sustainable materials inside, to the integrated lighting outside, both models have been created to offer drivers an unforgettable experience.

“We have not held back on performance either. Cupra Formentor and Leon have been redesigned to be as much of a thrill to drive as they are to look at with new powertrain options, both petrol and e-Hybrid.

“We’re delighted that we’re able to offer the new designs in addition to the Cupra Born VZ, giving UK drivers even more to choose from in our range.”
