A fleet of 30 all-new Mazda6 models are being taken on a nationwide whistle stop VIP tour during December as the model raises the stakes in the sector, with its class-leading emissions and outstanding fuel economy.

The Mazda6 is the model that put the brand on the company car map and the latest generation model promises to give the marque new impetus due to technology that delivers major fuel savings and emission reductions for fleets, which translate into financial savings for both businesses and drivers.

A team of 40 Mazda personnel led by head of Fleet Steve Tomlinson will be driving the fleet of all-new Mazda6 Tourers the length and breadth of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to showcase the all-new Mazda6 to fleet customers and prospects.

Invitations to view and drive an all-new Mazda6 have been sent to over 500 fleet decision-makers and hopes are high that company cars drivers will also be able to view the new car.

Tomlinson said: 'The all-new Mazda6 is the most important fleet model in the Mazda range and with it featuring our revolutionary SKYACTIV technology it promises an unbeatable combination of power and performance, low emissions and first class fuel economy.

‘It is the first time that Mazda has arranged such a tour and we are mobilising all our resources to raise as much awareness as we can of the all-new Mazda6 with fleets.

‘Each client visit will last about 60 minutes during which they will be given a short presentation highlighting the car's key attributes, a 'walk-round' of the vehicle and then sample its exceptional driving dynamics on the road with a drive.

‘We hope that fleet decision-makers will also alert their company car drivers to the all-new Mazda6's visit and that they will be able to view the car when it is on site,’ he added.

SKYACTIV technology, which appears in the all-new Mazda6 following its debut earlier this year in the all-new Mazda CX-5, has three key attributes economy, safety and performance and is redrawing the automotive landscape.

Promising enhanced efficiency and performance from petrol and diesel engines, the key model attributes relating to P11D, CO2 emissions, Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) tax and fuel economy are anticipated to secure the all-new Mazda6 a place on many more company car choice lists.

Businesses have a choice of Saloon and Tourer models with on-the-road prices starting at £19,595 for the SKYACTIV-G (petrol) 2.0-litre 145ps Saloon SE and £21,795 for the SKYACTIV-D (diesel) 2.2-litre 150ps Saloon SE. On the road prices for the Tourer start at £21,265 for the SKYACTIV-G 2.0-litre 145ps SE-L and £22,545 for the SKYACTIV-D 2.2-litre 150ps SE. The all-new Mazda6 range in both bodystyles, also includes a SKYACTIV-G 2.0-litre 165ps petrol engine and a SKYACTIV-D 2.2-litre 175ps diesel engine.

The all-new Mazda6 goes on sale in January with a choice of 36 models across the two bodystyles, six-speed manual and automatic transmissions and six trim levels (SE, SE Nav, SE-L, SE-L Nav, Sport and Sport Nav).

The SKYACTIV-D 2.2-litre 150ps diesel engine in the Saloon sets a new record low CO2 emissions figure of 108g/km for the segment and with combined fuel economy of 67.3 it achieves exceptional performance and economy from the available power (Tourer 116g/km and 64.2mpg).

The 2.0-litre SKYACTIV-G petrol 145ps is equally potent with CO2 emissions of 129g/km and fuel economy of 51.4 on the combined cycle put it among the sector's best performers in terms of environmental friendliness given the available power (Tourer 131g/km and 50.4mpg).
