Lightfoot to offset carbon emissions of CV Show visitors
Lightfoot has teamed up with the Commercial Vehicle Show to ensure the 2025 event is carbon-neutral – and revealed how visitors can help make it happen.

Lightfoot and the CV Show have partnered to make this year’s event carbon-neutral
At the show, which runs from tomorrow, Tuesday 29 April, to Thursday 1 May at the NEC in Birmingham, Lightfoot is asking attendees to enter their travel details, such as mode of transport and distance, at the entrance to the event.
The data will then be used to calculate the emissions footprint of all visitors – expected to number more than 15,000 – and Lightfoot, along with its carbon offset partner Evertreen, will plant trees to make the event carbon-neutral.
All visitors need to do is look out for two large iPad-style screens by the entrance and enter their travel details, including vehicle type, with an approximate mileage then appearing in seconds using a drop-down menu.
Lightfoot chief executive officer Paul Hollick said: “Our driver coaching and telematics technology is proven to help with the decarbonisation of commercial fleets, and so we wanted to bring that philosophy to the CV Show.
“Obviously we couldn’t fit our driver coaching technology – which reduces our customers CO2 emissions and fuel use by around 15% – into the vehicles of every visitor so this is a very good solution to ensure the CV Show reduces its carbon footprint.”
CV Show director Mike Costain said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Lightfoot to make this year’s CV Show carbon-neutral. When the idea was presented to us, it immediately aligned with our values.
“Decarbonisation is at the heart of this year’s event – a focus that’s clearly reflected in both our exhibitors and content agenda. We’re excited to collaborate with Lightfoot to drive meaningful change within the industry.”
This year’s CV Show will see major industry players unveil their latest and most groundbreaking products and solutions, including brand-new zero-emission vehicles.
“The CV Show is the biggest event in the commercial vehicle calendar, and so we are delighted to be working with them to try and make it the greenest too,” Hollick added.
