Lex Autolease sale shows strength of demand for convertibles
A total of 366 convertibles sports and prestige cars were offered, with over 92% of the entry sold – turnover generated was £3.9 million.
The "Super Saturday" event attracted over 259 buyers, with a further 370 dealers on the internet using BCA’s Live Online system. In total 124 vehicles or 37% of the sale was sold over the internet.
Among the strong sellers were an '09-plate Audi R8 4.2 Coupe with 11,000 miles, which went for £76,500 or 115% of CAP, a '56-plate BMW Z4 2.0 SE with 58,000 miles, which went for £9,300, equating to 112% of CAP and a '58-plate Jaguar XK 4.2 Coupe with 19,000 miles, which sold for £32,400, achieving 108% of CAP.
Dale Evans, Lex Autolease area auction manager north, commented: 'We have worked really closely with the BCA Belle Vue team and attention to detail has been the keyword for this event, the preparation and presentation of the sale was first class, and as this was our third convertible sale within two weeks, we are absolutely delighted with the very strong conversion and CAP achievement.'
