Kwik-Fit Fleet recruits more master technicians for complex repair work

The company says that a total of 43 master technicians have so far been recruited and a further 31 will have joined the company by mid-2011.

The recruitment of master technicians will further aid the growth of mechanical and electrical repair work in Kwik-Fit centres as the company continues to win business from the franchised dealer network. The number of services undertaken on company cars and vans last year by Kwik-Fit increased 16% compared with 2009 and demand is expected to soar further as organisations look to reduce operating costs.

Operating on a mobile basis, the master technicians will be called in by individual centres when required to undertake diagnosis and sophisticated vehicle repair work when a fault is identified in a component which is beyond the repair capability of one of Kwik-Fit's trained service technicians.

Kwik-Fit has 669 centres across the UK and as master technicians are recruited they will each serve up to about 10 locations.

The master technicians' vehicles are equipped with the very latest tools and diagnostic equipment to enable on the spot detection of vehicle faults and their repair.

Kwik-Fit Fleet sales director Peter Lambert said: 'As a result of our long-established reputation for high quality service delivery built on the repair and replacement of tyres, batteries and exhausts more organisations are turning to Kwik-Fit for vehicle-related mechanical work. With the employment of master technicians we expect that trend to continue.'
