He has been appointed to the company’s executive board of directors with immediate effect and will use his experience in both the technology and insurance sectors to expand the business in new and existing international markets, with particular focus on the United States.

Mr Miyan brings more than 20 years of experience and leadership, with international roles for Philips Semiconductors in The Netherlands, Checkpoint Systems in the US, and Ctrack where he served as international MD. Most recently he has led technology investment interests across the US, Europe and Middle East, and was on the board of directors for one of the UK’s leading vehicle Insurance companies.

Within the telematics marketplace, Saleem has been responsible for launching a range of emerging technologies. This has included RFID solutions in consumer, retail and B2B supply chains; GPS security and monitoring solutions in mission critical shipping-container and vehicle logistics operation; and advanced vehicle tracking and camera solutions across global corporate fleets. He also initiated the use of telematics technology in the usage-based-insurance (UBI) industry, achieving significant savings and efficiencies across claims management and fraud detection.

Speaking about his appointment, Mr Miyan said: “Having previously been involved in defining and executing effective strategies for disruptive and advanced technology solutions, this is a great time to be joining Intelligent Telematics and promises to be a pivotal period in their history. The recent entry into the US highlights their growth ambitions and I am excited about the opportunity to grow this part of the business as quickly as possible.”
