HMRC publishes latest Advisory Fuel Rates
HM Revenue & Customs has announced Advisory Fuel Rates effective from 1 December,
Latest AFRs see figures return to their June-September levels.
The latest AFRs, which are effective from 1 December, see all the rates return to the figures used between June and September and include a 1p per mile increase for both petrol and LPG-engined vehicles of 1401cc to 2000cc and a 1ppm increase for diesel and LPG vehicles over 2000cc.
All other rates stay the same.
However, the rates do not include figures for plug-in cars despite repeated industry calls for their inclusion to increase take-up and mass adoption by fleets.
The new AFR figures (ones for the previous quarter in brackets) are:
Engine size | Petrol | LPG |
1400cc or less | 11p (11p) | 7p (7p) |
1401cc to 2000cc | 14p (13p) | 9p (8p) |
Over 2000cc | 21p (21p) | 14p (13p) |
Engine size | Diesel |
1600cc or less | 9p (9p) |
1601cc to 2000cc | 11p (11p) |
Over 2000cc | 13p (12p) |
Hybrid cars are treated as either petrol or diesel cars for this purpose.
Fleets can use the previous rates for up to one month from the date the new rates apply.
