Freenow expands taxi app service to Glasgow
Freenow, the European multi-mobility app recently acquired by Lyft, is now offering its taxi app service in Glasgow through a partnership with Saltire Private Hire.

The Freenow app is now available to both residents and visitors in Glasgow
Passengers can book via the Freenow app and see the upfront cost of their trip and the driver’s estimated arrival time. Users can also take advantage of the ‘Prebook function’, which enables them to book a ride up to four days in advance and pay via Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Debit Card or cash.
When booking a cab, passengers receive information about their driver and vehicle and can utilise safety features such as ‘share your trip’, which allows them to share their journey with friends or family, so they know where the passenger is and when they arrive at their destination.
The Freenow app is already available in Edinburgh as well as in 150 other cities in Europe, including major capitals such as London, Dublin, Berlin, Rome, Madrid or Athens.
Danny O’Gorman, general manager at Freenow UK, said: “It is our job to continue responding to increased demand for our service across the UK. Following the success of Freenow in Edinburgh, with more than half a million taxi requests in the past three years and growing, we are pleased to announce that our app is now available to both residents and visitors in Glasgow, making it easier for people to book a ride whenever they need one.”
