Ford offers free home chargers and 10,000 miles of energy with all new EVs
Ford is now offering a free home charging wallbox and up to free 10,000 miles of charging with all new electric cars to help drivers go electric.
Drivers opting for a new Ford electric car now get a free home charger and a home energy bonus of up to 10,000 miles
The new Ford Power Promise launched today across the brand’s full range of electric cars in Britain and is designed to facilitate the EV transition.
Ford EV buyers now get a free home electric car charger and free standard installation, along with up to 10,000 miles of home energy bonus to get your new car moving for free. A £500 cash alternative is also available.
Building on the company’s existing partnership with Octopus Energy, Ford Power Promise customers can also benefit from the Intelligent Octopus Go smart energy tariff, which charges your electric vehicle for just 7p/kWh overnight, saving up to 70% of energy costs compared to price cap rates.
Other benefits offered by the brand include a free-of-charge five-year service plan, free-of-charge five-year towing assistance and access to more than 33,000 UK public charging points via Ford’s BlueOval Charge Network and the FordPass app, which eliminates stress and storage of multiple apps for public charging payments.
Ford’s electric cars – which include the Explorer, Capri, Puma Gen-E, Mustang Mach-E, E-Tourneo Custom and E-Tourneo Courier – also come with an eight-year/100,000-mile high-voltage component and battery warranty for peace of mind.
Ford Pro also continues to offer its £10 home charger bundle for commercial vehicle customers that includes a home charge point, standard installation, a five-year hardware warranty and 12 months’ complimentary access to Ford Pro home charging software. The offer is available with the E-Transit Custom and the E-Transit.
The new Ford Power Promise offer launches a day after Lisa Brankin, chair and managing director at Ford UK, posted on LinkedIn, saying the Government’s response to the ZEV mandate consultation was a “small step in the right direction”, but was not the “giant leap required to address the especially challenging electric vehicle market conditions”. The brand continues to call for real incentives to help consumers make the switch to electric mobility.
Results from a recent Ford survey of 5,000 drivers across Europe found that 25% of customers feel more uncertainty and complexity when buying an electric car; one in eight find it too difficult to arrange charging at home; one third of respondents believe that electric vehicles take too long to charge; and over 30% of people are concerned about overall battery life.
Lisa Brankin said: “Switching into an electric vehicle for the first time can be a daunting prospect for some drivers, so Ford have decided to simplify and destress the entire ownership experience by launching a one-of-a-kind promise to new electric car buyers. This commitment from Ford aims to entice new buyers into the exciting world of electric vehicles and stimulate additional demand for our freshest-ever lineup of electric passenger cars.”
