Ford Fleet Management breaks into salary sacrifice sector

Ford Fleet Management (FFM), the mobility solutions JV between Ford and Ayvens, has debuted a salary sacrifice car scheme in partnership with GMP Drivercare.

The new scheme is designed for a simple, hassle-free experience

Designed to offer a cost-effective and tax-efficient scheme for employees and employers alike, the scheme gives access to a wide range of multi-brand low-emission and electric vehicles alongside income tax and National Insurance savings, as well as a fully managed vehicle service in-life.

Salary sacrifice schemes work by trading a portion of an employee’s pre-tax earnings for a tangible benefit – in this case, a brand-new, low-emission car.

FFM’s scheme will help employees to save money on a new car and go electric cost-effectively, while also helping employers become a key player in sustainability, save on National Insurance and enhance their employee benefits.

The new scheme is also designed to stand out in the salary sacrifice sector, keeping the process simple for customers while also delivering a holistic solution, from order and delivery to in-life management and beyond.

The scheme will offer a wide variety of low-emissions vehicles, not just from Ford but also other brands. And by partnering with GMP Drivercare, a leading provider of salary sacrifice schemes, FFM offers a simple, hassle-free experience for customers.

John Wright, FFM managing director, said: “Since our inception, FFM have primarily focused on customers with large LCV fleets, so it is exciting to launch our new salary sacrifice product that will enable new and existing customers to engage their car driving employees with an attractive, tax-effective way to drive a brand-new electric vehicle.

“Many employers will be looking even harder at this benefit to take advantage of saving from reduced NI contributions, which is pertinent when NI rises in the new tax year.

“This is just one of the many elements that businesses need to consider and our experienced team are on hand to guide them through the implementation and launch of a salary sacrifice scheme from FFM.”

Tony Murtagh from GMP Drivercare added: “GMP Drivercare are thrilled to be partnering FFM in their salary sacrifice proposition. We have been delivering these schemes for 15 years, which makes us one of the most experienced technology and service providers in the UK, today.

“Salary sacrifice is the fastest-growing product in our sector. Employers understand the advantages of employee benefits and cost-savings for the organisation, with significant contributions to carbon emissions to boost ESG programmes.

“This is an exciting partnership for many reasons. GMP and FFM have a common goal with an aligned customer-focus at the heart of what we do.”
