Fleet values hold firm, says Glass’s

The company’s data for May shows that in the Fleet Sector, prices for the month are ahead of those achieved during May 2012 by around 10%, returning to the level versus prior year seen throughout the last 12 months. Glass’s adds that if this level of uplift versus prior year was to be maintained into June, this suggests that the average price would increase only marginally (0.5%) to c. £8,100.

Looking ahead to the July Guide values and prospects, Rupert Pontin, chief car editor at Glass’s, said: ‘The July market can be very fickle being dependent on weather conditions and summer holiday opportunities. The MPV and Convertible markets are likely to remain buoyant with good Retail demand whilst other areas will be correspondingly lethargic. Values in this edition of the Guide have decreased by around 3% although there have been larger moves for some less popular models, and specifically 4x4s.’
