Safe2Drive, a Glasgow-based business set up by a trio of industry road risk experts, has been shortlisted for two Glasgow Business Awards.

Safe2Drive, which launched its road risk management platform this spring to help keep businesses compliant, has been shortlisted for two categories that include the Best Use of Digital Technology and Innovation in Business.

The awards, organised by the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, are run annually as a celebration of the city’s business community. Winners from across the 17 categories will be announced at a black-tie event that takes place on 3 October at Double Tree by Hilton Glasgow Central and is organised in partnership with the University of Strathclyde.

Allan Gibbons – who founded Safe2Drive along with Scott McLennan and Sinead Moy – said the company was over the moon with the shortlisting.

Gibbons commented: “The shortlist is testament to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved in our risk management business. The detailed intricacies of our work are crucial to ensure businesses, and their drivers remain legally compliant and help keep our roads and road users safe.”

Safe2Drive’s founders have more than 25 years’ knowledge and experience in the automotive, insurance and technology markets, which they have used to develop a claimed best-in-class bespoke system that bridges current shortfalls identified in the marketplace.

Its road risk management platform, which includes an app, can be used across business drivers, including the grey fleet, helping companies to determine their legal compliance and safety, along with their environmental impact to assist with business analysis.

Bespoke reporting can be built into the platform to meet each company’s unique needs and enabling the fleet manager to view a comprehensive reporting dashboard to monitor and manage their drivers’ driving licence, insurance and vehicle compliancy.

The new platform can be fully integrated into existing business systems and can incorporate the client’s corporate branding.
