The National Association of Motor Auctions (NAMA) has presented its inaugural Hall of Fame Award to Ian Wilson of Wilsons Auctions.

NAMA’s first-ever Hall of Fame Award went to Ian Wilson for his leadership and vision at Wilsons Auctions

The newly established award recognises outstanding contributions to the industry and was given to Ian Wilson for his dedication and visionary leadership, which have helped propel Wilsons Auctions.

Ian is MD at Wilsons Auctions and the second generation of the family to manage the auction company. In his time with the business, he’s grown the company from a single auction facility in Northern Ireland to the largest independent auction company in the UK and Ireland, with 19 sites and an annual sales figure exceeding £500m.

Paul Hill, spokesperson for NAMA, said: “The NAMA Hall of Fame celebrates those who have made extraordinary contributions to our industry. Ian Wilson’s achievements exemplify the innovation, resilience, and dedication we seek to recognise. We are proud to present this award to him and look forward to many more years of his leadership and vision.”

Ian Wilson commented: “I was completely taken by surprise today with this recognition. All the directors were aware of what was happening, and I am deeply moved by this distinction. The support from my team has been pivotal throughout these past 60 years.

“Observing how far the business has come, it’s incredibly rewarding to see family members and long-term employees advancing within the company and perpetuating the vision of motor auctions that Wilsons Auctions stands for. Together, we have reached several significant milestones, and this one is particularly meaningful. My heartfelt thanks to everyone for their part in earning this award and their contributions to the business.”
