Fiat updates 500X and Tipo for 2022
Fiat has revised its 500X and Tipo line-ups with styling and specification changes for MY2022.
The updates to the 500X introduce minor design changes, bringing it in line with the latest Fiat 500 and including new ‘500’ badging on the front bumper and ‘Fiat’ lettering on the rear.
The three-grade line-up of Club, Cross and Sport models that arrived last year is carried over and the 500X is available as both hatchback and the Dolcevita soft-top version introduced at the end of 2021.
Entry-level Club models are priced from £22,085 OTR and feature 16-inch alloy wheels, air con, cruise control and seven-inch touchscreen.
The offroad-inspired Cross has more rugged styling and includes rear-view parking camera, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and automatic dual-zone climate control, priced from £23,585 for the hatchback. It’s also available as the Dolcevita convertible, priced from £26,235.
The top-of-the-range Sport trim has an Alcantara steering wheel, puddle lights, body-coloured bumpers and side skirts, and colour TFT screen, and is priced from £25,085 for the hatchback and £27,735 for the Dolcevita.
As before, just one engine is offered: a 120hp 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol. All models are front-wheel drive and have six-speed manual transmission.
The changes to the Tipo hatchback solely focus on specification upgrades for the three trims on offer – now renamed as Tipo, City Life and Cross.
The lower-rung Tipo spec is priced from £19,595 and has adaptive cruise control, electric heated door mirrors, seven-inch touchscreen with DAB, Bluetooth and new 16-inch wheels.
City Life trim starts from £20,595 OTR and includes 17-inch alloy wheels, full LED headlights and rear lights, seven-inch full colour digital cluster, fog lights and driver seat electric lumbar support.
The Tipo Cross gets more rugged bumpers and roof bars and also adds in rear-view parking camera, front and rear parking sensors, auto high beam, integrated sat nav and body-coloured door mirrors. It’s priced from £22,595.
The 500X and Tipo are also available in (RED) trim levels as with the rest of the Fiat range. Earlier this week, the brand announced the launch of new (RED) special-edition models for the Tipo and Panda, joining the existing Fiat (RED) family launched last September and enhancing its work with charity partner (RED) in raising money to fight pandemics.
The MY22 500X and Tipo are both available to order now.
