Fiat slashes starting price of 500e to £21,995

Fiat has cut £3,200 off the starting price of the 500e hatchback and convertible, making the city car one of the most affordable electric vehicles available to drive today.

The Fiat 500e is now priced from £21,995

The diminutive Italian electric city car is already available with the ‘Fiat E-Grant’ of £3,000 and the latest price reduction, which runs alongside the existing incentive, now brings the starting price down to £21,995.

Fiat said the price reduction underscores its dedication to providing accessible and cost-effective electric mobility solutions.

Damien Dally, managing director of Fiat UK, said: “At Fiat, we believe in electric for all. We believe it’s crucial that we continue to work towards making electric vehicles more accessible and affordable for people across the UK.

“That’s why we’re putting our money where our mouth is again to encourage customers to go electric. Our effort to reduce prices means the Fiat 500e is now one of the most affordable electric vehicles you can drive today – which we are proud to be able to say.”

The MY24 Fiat 500e hatchback and convertible are available in two powertrains. The entry-level version comes with a 90hp motor and a 24kWh battery, delivering a WLTP range of 118 miles. It’s now priced from £21,995 with the new discount and the E-grant.

The 500e is also available with a larger 118hp motor and 42kWh battery, giving a WLTP range of 199 miles. It starts from £24,995 under the price cut.

It’s available in three different grades. The entry-level version features 16-inch alloy wheels and a 10.25-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The line-up also includes the Red special edition, plus the La Prima top-rung model with 17-inch alloy wheels, JBL audio system and level 2 semi-autonomous driving technologies.

The new MY24 500e and 500e convertible also comes with two new colours: Acid Green and Celestial Blue in metallic finishing.

Fiat launched its E-Grant in June 2023, 12 months after the Government closed the Plug-in Car Grant. The incentive was originally in place on the 500e and 500e convertible but now extends to the recently launched family-focused 600e and Abarth 500e.
