DVLA to host driving licence fees consultation webchat

By / 11 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

Taking place on 15th August 2014 at 2pm, the webchat will give customers and stakeholders the opportunity to ask DVLA finance and policy leads questions on the driving licence fees consultation.

The event is being held following the DVLA’s announcement of plans to cut driving licence fees by up to 32% from October, claiming it could save motorists up to £2m each year.

The consultation proposal is the first of a 2 phase review. The review will be on:

  • The first application for a driving licence
  • 10 year renewals of photocard driving licences
  • Digital tachographs

By focusing on these transactions the DVLA said it enables it to help firs- time drivers, professional drivers and the large proportion of all drivers who have to renew their photocard licence every 10 years.

The webchat will be available at: http://assets.dft.gov.uk/web-chats/dvla-driving-licence-fees-consultation.html
