Drivers being dazzled by modern headlights, warns RAC
Modern vehicle headlights could be dazzling drivers, bringing safety issues, according to the RAC.
The RAC says modern headlights could be dazzling drivers.
Research by the organisation among 2,061 motorists found that as many as two-thirds (65%) say they regularly get dazzled by oncoming headlights even though they are dipped.
And 15% of motorists claim they have suffered a near-miss as a result of being dazzled by modern headlights that they believe are too bright.
The organisation said a driver recovering from being dazzled by headlights for five seconds while driving at 60mph would cover a distance of 134m – more than the length of a UK football pitch.
