Drivers’ abhorrence of traffic wardens wanes
Just over 10 years ago it was announced in the company’s nationwide survey that the job of ‘Traffic Warden’ was the most hated by the UK public, beating many other notoriously unpopular career choices such as politicians, sales people and bankers.
Now a decade later in 2015 it seems other careers choices have angered the public much more than the humble traffic warden. A recent study conducted by IntelligentCarLeasing.com asked 1,000 UK adults to choose the occupation they have the least respect for out of a choice of five.
The results showed that politicians lead the way with 32.4% of the vote, followed by telemarketers with 25.2%, door-to-door salespeople 19.7%, bankers with 14.7% and the traffic warden came last with 8.0%
A spokesperson for the company said: “It’s quite possible that the public’s attitude towards traffic wardens haven’t actually changed that much. However with other areas having a more grating impact on our daily lives wardens have been pushed down somewhat.”
