Citroën Grand C4 SpaceTourer gets updated trims and engines

Citroën has revised the UK line-up for its Grand C4 SpaceTourer, streamlining trim and engine options for the seven-seat MPV.

On sale now, priced from £28,630, the updated range puts more focus on the most popular upper-level versions. As such, the entry-level ‘Live’ specification has been axed to instead concentrate on the more popular ‘Sense’ and ‘Shine’ trims. These account for 90% of customer orders, while 60% of orders alone are for the range-topping Shine model.

Citroën has also ditched the BlueHDi 130 EAT8 automatic powertrain on Sense versions but it remains available on the Shine trim. Other engines available on both grades include the  PureTech 130 with either six-speed manual or EAT8 auto and the BlueHDi 130 with the six six-speed manual.

In terms of equipment, Sense grades come as standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, dark tinted side windows and integrated aluminium roof bars, along with 3D-effect rear lights, as well as a reversing camera for added ease of driving.

Onboard equipment includes a 12-inch panoramic HD central display and a 7-inch Touch Drive interface with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard. Sense models also feature Citroën Connect Nav with three years of live traffic updates.

Standard driver assistance features include Active Safety Brake with Forward Collision Warning, Driver Attention Alert, Speed Limit Recognition and Recommendation as well as a tyre pressure monitoring system.

The range-topping Shine models add a panoramic sunroof and black door mirrors to the exterior styling, as well as Xenon Intelligent Beam headlights. They also gain an active lane-departure warning system, as well as active cruise control with speed limiter, braking function for semi-autonomous motorway driving, blind-spot monitoring system and a park assist function.

The revised Grand C4 SpaceTourer range is available from October 2021 production.
