BVRLA brings AFP Women’s Voices in Fleet course to members

The BVRLA has introduced a new course to help women across its membership feel confident, clear and persuasive when speaking publicly.

The Women’s Voices in Fleet course equips delegates with clear guidance on speaking publicly

The Women’s Voices in Fleet course, developed by the Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP), takes place 20-21 May and will enable delegates to speak with confidence and clarity in any setting.

Fear of public speaking is widespread and means that knowledge, ideas or experiences are not shared, while also creating personal challenges relating to fear and anxiety.

The Women’s Voices in Fleet course, developed by the AFP specifically for the fleet sector, equips delegates with clear guidance and a toolkit to support them on an ongoing basis.

The course marks the latest development in the strategic collaboration between the BVRLA and the AFP, and follows the launch of the first joint training initiative between the two bodies last month.

Mark Pow, head of learning and development at the BVRLA, said: “As a sector we are making a lot of positive strides to make it a more inclusive environment where everyone can flourish. The Women’s Voices in Fleet course is a great way to accelerate that progression. We are fortunate to have incredible individuals working across the BVRLA membership; this course will help to make sure they can all have their voices heard.”

Ronnie Gillman, training manager at the AFP, commented: “We are pleased to be expanding our collaboration with the BVRLA. Together, we are making vital resources available to more individuals working in fleet, expanding those opportunities to raise knowledge and standards.

“The salary sacrifice training we recently delivered in conjunction with the BVRLA was very popular with our members. The Women’s Voices in Fleet course has the power to change lives and careers and we are delighted to be giving more industry colleagues the opportunity to develop their full potential.”

The Women’s Voices in Fleet two-day course is being held on 20-21 May 2025 and costs £650. More details are available on the BVRLA website.
