Apple adds Parkopedia data to maps app
Parkopedia’s live data and reservations for 40 million global parking spaces will be available in the next version of Apple Maps, the provider has announced.
The new version of Apple Maps will launch with iOS 10 later this year.
The update will launch as part of the iOS 10 operating system, which gets a completely redesigned version of the often-maligned mapping app, which includes bookings for Uber and Lyft, synchronises with appointments in the user’s calendar and will suggest fuel stops and rest areas en route.
Parkopedia integration will add the ability to view information about car parks all over the world, with the option to click through to its website or iOS app for information about pricing and payment options, as well as user reviews, real-time availability and electric vehicle charging spaces.
Parkopedia’s Head of Marketing, Christina Onesirosan Martinez, said: “This is a very important milestone for Parkopedia. Our combined footprint in the consumer and automotive space is huge and this opens the doors to delivering a world of innovative solutions.”
