Humax partners with ChargedEV for UK smart EV charging rollout

ChargedEV has been appointed as the official EV charging installation partner for Humax, following the launch of the South Korean brand’s smart EV charging solutions into the UK.

Customers buying the Humax smart home charger will be able to select a home installation service provided by ChargedEV

ChargedEV, part of the Redde Northgate Group, will deliver a survey, pre- and post- installation support service to Humax customers across the UK. This will be supported by ChargedEV’s nationwide in-house team of 70-plus electricians, said to be the largest in the industry.

Humax entered the UK market with its smart EV charging solutions earlier this year as part of a wider rollout in Europe, backed by a comprehensive customer support infrastructure.

Home charger solutions are first to arrive – its Ecord 7.4kW home charger is either wall-mounted or on a pedestal, comes with a 4m or 7m Type 2 cable and can be controlled manually using RFID technology or by the Humax Ecord app.

Commercial chargers will follow soon after, leveraging the expertise gained from the Humax global operations and supporting the growing fleet and commercial EV charging industry, as Humax has already in the broadcasting sector.

Customers buying the Humax smart home charger will be able to select a home installation service provided by ChargedEV as part of the online purchasing journey via the Humax EV Charging website, which is an industry first. The Humax EV Charging e-commerce site uses ChargedEV’s bespoke back-office platform.

ChargedEV will also manage installations that optimise the Humax EV chargers’ solar compatibility, allowing excess solar energy from home PV systems to charge the owner’s EV.

Jeff Kim, president of Humax, commented: “Humax required an established, trusted and respected partner to cater for all aspects of its customers’ charging needs, to support the brand’s launch into the UK.

“We appointed ChargedEV based on its market-leading in-house installation and EV customer support teams. We are confident they will manage all our customers’ installation needs to an extremely high level. We look forward to a long and fruitful working relationship.”
