Zap-Map has expanded its Zap-Pay EV payment service with the addition of charge point operator ESB Energy.

ESB Energy is the second charge point operator to be added to Zap-Pay

The Zap-Pay service launched late summer 2020 to provide a cross-network payment service. It allows electric vehicle drivers to pay for charging in a simple and easy way, avoiding the hassle of multiple apps across different networks, while also extending Zap-Map’s existing charging mapping functions; drivers can search, plan and pay for charging via a single app.

ESB Energy is the second charge point operator to be added to Zap-Pay and has 145 rapid chargers in the UK, within Coventry and London, making it currently the eighth biggest rapid charging network in the UK. It’s also due to expand considerably over the next two years under its work with Birmingham City Council to install almost 200 chargers.

More networks will be added to Zap-Pay in 2021; its mission is to sign up all the key networks across the UK.
